1. Our Philosophy
Your data belongs to you, and it stays with you.
AdapterOS is local-first desktop software. Unlike cloud-based AI tools, AdapterOS runs entirely on your Mac. Your models, adapters, training data, and inference results never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to export them.
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate our business. For the desktop application, that means zero data collection. For our website, that means only what you voluntarily provide.
2. Information We Collect
Website (adapteros.com)
When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. That is the only personal information we collect through our website.
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no device fingerprinting.
Desktop Application
The AdapterOS desktop application collects absolutely no data.
- No telemetry or usage analytics
- No crash reports sent to our servers
- No model usage statistics
- No network requests during normal operation
3. How We Use Information
We use email addresses from waitlist signups exclusively to:
- Send product updates and release announcements
- Notify you when availability begins
- Respond to inquiries if you contact us
We will never sell your email, share it for marketing, or use it for behavioral profiling.

From the Desktop App
- No model prompts or outputs
- No adapter configurations
- No file paths or system info
- No performance metrics
- No error logs or crash dumps

5. Data Storage and Security
Email Storage
Email addresses are stored securely with encryption, retained only as needed for updates, and deleted upon request or unsubscribe.
Local Data
All desktop application data is stored locally on your Mac. We recommend enabling FileVault for full-disk encryption. You control your own backups and data deletion.
6. Third-Party Services
We use Resend to deliver emails to waitlist subscribers. Email addresses are shared only for email delivery purposes.
We do not use analytics platforms, advertising networks, session replay tools, or social login providers.
7. Your Rights
GDPR (EU/UK/Switzerland)
You have additional rights including lodging complaints with supervisory authorities. Our lawful basis for processing is consent.
CCPA (California)
You have rights to know, delete, and opt out. We do not sell personal information.
8. Children's Privacy
AdapterOS is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. International Users
Email addresses may be processed in the United States. For EEA/UK/Swiss users, we ensure appropriate safeguards through Standard Contractual Clauses.
The desktop application requires no international data transfers because all data stays on your device.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email. The current version will always be available at adapteros.com/privacy.
