1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using AdapterOS, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Software on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download, install, or use the Software.
2. Description of Service
AdapterOS is desktop software designed for managing LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) adapters and AI model fine-tuning components on Apple Silicon Mac computers.
3. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use AdapterOS on Apple Silicon Mac computers that you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business purposes.
License Restrictions
You may NOT:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense the Software
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code
- Remove or alter proprietary notices or marks
- Use the Software to develop a competing product
- Use on non-Apple hardware or unauthorized virtualized environments
4. User Responsibilities
System Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring your hardware and software meet the minimum system requirements for AdapterOS, including a compatible Apple Silicon Mac with adequate storage and memory.
Data Backup
You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your models, adapters, datasets, and any other data used with AdapterOS. We strongly recommend implementing a regular backup strategy.
Model Licensing
You are responsible for ensuring your use of base AI models, LoRA adapters, and training data complies with their respective licenses. AdapterOS does not validate third-party model licenses.
5. Intellectual Property
Our Software
AdapterOS, including its code, design, and documentation, is our exclusive property protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Your Models and Data
You retain full ownership of AI models you create or fine-tune, LoRA adapters you develop, training datasets, and outputs generated from your models. We claim no ownership rights over your models, adapters, or data.
6. Pre-Release Software
AdapterOS is currently provided as pre-release software. This means the Software is still under development and may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features. Features may change or be removed without notice. Performance may not be optimized.
Pre-release software is provided for evaluation and testing purposes. Do not rely on it for production workloads or critical applications.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
AdapterOS is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Due to the probabilistic nature of machine learning, AI models may produce unexpected or inaccurate outputs. We make no representations regarding the accuracy or suitability of model outputs.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, models, or adapters, loss of profits, or business interruption, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AdapterOS from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use or misuse of the Software, violation of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights, or AI models and outputs you create or deploy using the Software.
10. Termination
You may terminate this license at any time by uninstalling AdapterOS. We may terminate or suspend your license immediately if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your license ceases and you must destroy all copies of the Software.
Termination does not affect your ownership of models, adapters, or data you created. Export your work before uninstalling if needed.
11. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Software or by email. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the Software.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of state and federal courts in Delaware for disputes arising from these Terms.
